SAMBA, June 15: Samba police today arrested two persons and recovered 35 Kilograms of poppy straw and an amount of Rs 43000 from their possession in the Jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station.
According to the Police, a team of Police Station Ghagwal laid a Nakka at village Lallachack falling under the jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station in district Samba. During the Nakka checking police party intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK08- 2863. During their frisking 30 Kilograms of Poppy straw and Rs 43 thousand in cash were recovered from their possession. Both were arrested on the spot and contraband items seized.
The accused have been identified as Ram Kumar, son of Kewal Krishan of Dunga Hiranagr and Yog Raj, son of Bhola Nath resident of Kootah (Hirangar).
The whole operation was conducted under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak under the direct supervision of DySP Headquarter, Samba, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law by Ghagwal police in this regard and investigation has also been initiated.
