General loot in CAPD

Scam involving fraud of crores of rupees in the CAPD of Rajouri district has come to light recently. The fraud pertains to fake and false carriage charges of food grains. There seems a nexus among the concerned at the departmental level in which all who had a say have been indicted for corruption. Huge amounts have been drawn from the State treasury against the item of carriage charges. Already, the case is under the investigation of Vigilance authorities. But more recently fresh complaints have been lodged with Rajouri police bringing to its notice how a fraud continues to be practiced. Entire entries seem to be fictitious and the persons who are indicted are least bothered. It is nearly two years that investigation in this multi crore scam had begun and the report is yet to come.
This is a much publicized case in which the names of the persons of CAPD have been mentioned and accusations made. By now the culprits should have been dealt with in accordance with the law.  But the lackadaisical manner in which investigation is going on may take decades to deliver the final judgment. And any judgment that is delayed means justice is denied. Society cannot bear the aberration that a handful of employees of a department form a nexus and then defraud the Government of hundreds of crores of rupees. Order has to be restored and corruption has to be uprooted at all costs.
