General Lok Adalat held

KATHUA, Sept 17: A General Lok Adalat was today held at District Courts Complex Kathua wherein Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Jaffer Hussain Beg inaugurated the proceedings by lighting of ceremonial lamp.
Three benches were constituted at District Court Complex Kathua and five benches were constituted in Tehsil Courts at Basohli, Billawar, Bani, Hiranagar and Mahanpur.
A total of 2074 cases were taken up in the General Lok Adalat by various benches, out of which 1783 cases were disposed of which included 01 MACT Cases, 06 Matrimonial, 04 Civil suits, 02 Post- Litigation Bank case, 42 pre-litigation bank cases, 02 no of 138 NI Act cases, 20 Criminal compoundable cases, 701 Traffic Challans etc..
Compensation worth Rs 25000 was awarded in the MACT cases, a recovery of Rs. 3457930 was also made in favour of the Banks besides recovering a fine of Rs. 382220.
The Bench No 1 comprised Additional District & Sessions Judge Kathua, Kamlesh Pandita, & Special Mobile Magistrate Kathua Anjana Rajput.
Bench No. 2 comprised Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua Sandeep Kour, Munsiff JMIC Kathua Cheena Sumbria.
The Bench No 3 comprised District Mobile Magistrate Brij Raj Singh and Public Prosecutor District Court Kathua, Surinder.
At Basohli, Lok Adalat bench comprised Munsiff JMIC Basohli Jeevan Kumar Sharma, & Advocate Shub Kumar of Basohli.
At Billawar, Lok Adalat bench comprised Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Billawar Rohit Sharma
At Bani, Lok Adalat bench comprised JMIC Bani Ahtzaz Ahmed and Advocate Rajinder Kumar of Bani.
At Hiranagar bench consisted of Munsiff JMIC Hiranagar Girja Shavan and Advocate Thakur Ranjit Singh of Hiranagar.
At Mahanpur bench consisted of Munsiff JMIC Mahanpur Rajni Bhagat and Advocate Deep Kumar of Mahanpur.
