JAMMU, June 1: General Category Peoples’ Front – Jammu Kashmir held its meeting under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, the Chairman of the Front and discussed the issues of unreserved category people.
Addressing the meeting, Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front, demanded legal provision of equal rights and equal laws for all citizens, irrespective of caste and creed. He called upon all unreserved communities and senior intellectual members of the society to rise above politics and combat unitedly against discrimination being done in the name of social justice. He also appealed the Govt of Jammu Kashmir to extend validity of EWS Certificate for 5 year.
Som Nath Sharma, General Secretary of the Front, demanded removal of restrictions imposed on the fair application of Article 14, 15 and 16. He strongly condemned the alleged discriminatory policies of the present Government to provide benefits of welfare schemes on the basis of caste; class and religion ignoring General Categories.
V K Sharma, Dr Bansi Lal, Jagdish Dogra, Deepak Khajuria, Bhushan Pargal Gopal Dass Verma and others also expressed similar views in the meeting.
