Geelani hospitalized

Srinagar, Mar 10:  The chairman of hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was today hospitalised after he suffered a minor heart attack in Delhi.
A spokesman of Hurriyat said here that this morning Geelani complained of chest pain and he was immediately took to nearby Max Hospital at Saket in New Delhi where he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The spokesman said that Geelani responded to the treatment and is stable. “After the test results, the doctors declared the health condition of Geelani Sahab as stable,” he said.
Meanwhile, on hearing this news, the APHC immediately rushed an official team comprising of personal secretary to chairman Peer Saifullah, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar and senior Hurriyat leader Raja Mehraj-ud-Din to New Delhi.
Meanwhile, National Conference working president and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah prayed for the speedy recovery of Geelani. “Just heard about SAS Geelani having taken ill, admitted to the ICU in a Delhi hospital. Prayers for his speedy recovery,” Omar wrote on Twitter.
