UDHAMPUR, Mar 28: Government Degree College Udhampur has started COVID-19 helpline, offering guidance and counselling for UGC NET, NEET and other entrance aspirants.
Announcing the start of dedicated COVID-19 Online Helpline, Prof Nutan Kumar Resutra, Principal, GDC Udhampur said that in view of the ongoing lockdown, his college was fully committed to providing every possible assistance and required tools to both teachers and students to facilitate the Teaching Learning process at home. He reassured the students that they need not worry and should stay indoors at home and focus on their studies.
Dr Resutra explained that to raise awareness about the threat of COVID-19, online helpline has been started at https://devikacloud.in/helpline where students can ask questions and clarify their doubts. The helpline will also guide students about various Entrance Examinations and career options available to them. Online applications for NET examination in various subjects had recently been announced by the UGC, whereas NEET Examination has been postponed due to the threat of COVID-19.
Dr Resutra enunciated the engagement of Govt Degree College Udhampur with its students through the Devika Cloud online portal and said that the faculty is working around the clock to provide information, guidance and counselling to students through Online mode.
It is pertinent to mention here that for more than last two weeks faculty members of the college from various departments under the guidance of Principal Prof Nutan Kumar Resutra have been uploading course material as well as conducting online classes for the students. The staff members who have actively participated in this initiative, include Dr Bhavnaish Chand, Dr Ved Kumar, Prof Satish Kumar, Dr B L Thakur, Dr G R Verma, Prof Javaid Sarver, Prof Sunita Kumari, Prof Kamal Kishore, Prof Samosh Kumar, Dr Pankaj Sharma, Dr Ajay Kumar, Prof Asma Javed, Dr Rakesh Prashar, and others.
The Institution has also started online coaching for UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2 in English, and coaching for more subjects would be added in the next few weeks. Online coaching would be provided to the students through the Devika Cloud Platform available at https://devikacloud.in/net supervised by Prof Suresh Dogra (Convener, IQAC). IT Infrastructure for the project has been developed by Prof Shaji Khan and Prof Rakesh Kumar.
