GDC Sidhra launches Skill Development course for ST students

JAMMU, Aug 13: Under the vision of Principal Secretary Higher Education Department, Rohit Kansal and Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, Dr Sanjeev Jain, Government Degree College Sidhra in collaboration with the Central University of Jammu, launched a Skill Development course on Mass Communication and New Media for Scheduled Tribe students under Phase I of Tribal Youth Engagement Program under the aegis of Skill India initiative.
The inaugural event was presided over by Dr Jaya Bhasin, Dean School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu and Dr Shahid Mushtaq, Head Department of Marketing and Supply Chain, School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu while Dr Archana Kumari, Assistant Professor, Dept of Mass Communication and New Media and Rajat Bandral are Trainer for the skill course.
The course coordinator of the Skill Course, Dr Mussarat Chowdhary presented the welcome address while the resource persons addressed the students and briefed them about the upcoming program to be introduced in the college.
Principal of the college, Dr B B Anand also addressed the students and appraised them regarding the importance of skill courses in today’s world. Dr Mehmood Ahmed presented the vote of thanks. Dr Anshu Gupta, Nodal Officer Skill Development Courses, along with other faculty members were also present in the program.
