DODA, Dec 14: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh has been renamed as Government DySP Aman Thakur Degree Memorial College Kashtigarh.
A event was organised during renaming of the college, which was attended by prominent citizens and dignitaries of the area. On the occasion, parents and family members of martyred DySP Aman Thakur, DDC Vice-Chairperson Doda Sangeeta Bhagat, DDC member Kastigarh, Tehsildar Kastigarh, Sarpanches of Kastigarh area, Principal of the College, students and all faculty members of the college were also present.
Principal of the college, Prof Surinder Singh Parihar in his welcome address highlighted the contribution of martyred DySP Aman Thakur in Police Department who sacrificed his life for the safety and security of the nation.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were DDC Vice-Chairperson Doda Sangeeta Bhagat, DDC member Kastigarh Santosha Devi, Sarpanch Upper Mundhar Mohammad Shafiq, Sarpanch Dhandal Ghulam Hassan, Sarpanch Gagla Kuldeep Singh, Rashpaul Singh and Pyar Chand Bhagat.
In the end, Prof Ajay Kumar presented the vote of thanks.
The programme was anchored by Meenakshi Bhagat and Tousif Akram, students of the college.
