RAJOURI, Oct 27: Students of Govt Degree College, Budhal today held protest demonstration against the State Education authorities for their failure to fill up vacant posts of lecturers/ assistant professors.
The students including girls came out of their classes and moved towards the main bazaar and took out protest rally. They were shouting slogans against Education Minister Naeem Akhtar and Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed. The students alleged that most of the posts of lecturers were lying vacant in the college since long and no lecturer under academic arrangement or contractual basis was appointed during this session. The exams of the students are drawing nearer and hardly one month is left. The students will not be able to cover their syllabus. They demanded that staff be appointed without any delay as hardly 2-3 regular staff members have been appointed in the college.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to the local administration for the DC Rajouri and Education Minister.
