BHADERWAH, Oct 28: A symposium on “Blood Donation” was organized by Red Ribbon Club GDC Bhaderwah in collaboration J&K AIDS Control Society, Health and Medical Education Department J&K State in which the large number of students and staff of the college participated.
The function was presided over by the Principal of the college, Prof Z.A Hashmi. In the function, Dr Javed Iqbal HoD Botany gave the key note address to the volunteers and highlighted the importance of blood donation. He made the students aware about the key aspects of the blood donation.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Prof Hashmi, highlighted the importance of blood donation for the cause of the humanity during various types of emergencies such as accidents, deadly diseases like sickle cell anaemia, cancer etc. He also congratulated the organizers of RRC and JKSAC Jammu for organizing the symposium on a topic of vital interest.
There were nine participants and among them three were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd namely Yasser Hussain B.Sc Part-III, Manjeet Kotwal B.Sc Part-II, Bilal Hussain B.Sc Part-III respectively. The participants were presented momentos and consolation prizes.
The judges were Dr. Javed Iqbal, Prof Javed Mohi-ud-Din and Prof Surinder Singh Parihar. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Surinder Singh Parihar. The prominent among others present in the symposium were Prof Mansa Ram, Prof N K Manhas, Prof S K Katal, Prof Bal Krishan, Prof. Pinki Kotwal, Prof Satish Kumar, Prof Arjun Kotwal, Prof Prithvi Raj and others.
