JAMMU, Mar 2: Demanding online mode for the examinations, students of Government College for Women, Parade held a protest demonstration.
The protesting students, mostly of First Semester, raised slogans in support of their demand and assembled in front of the college. They blocked the road and thereafter took out a protest march around the college.

They accused the college administration of playing with their career by announcing examinations through offline mode even as the college had remained off and there were no regular classes.
“There was no regular class work but only online classes because of COVID pandemic and now the college administration is forcing us to appear in exams through offline mode, which is not possible for the students,” they explained and reiterated their demand for online examinations, which are commencing after a few days.
Pertinent to mention that the college administration has notified holding of exams only through offline mode as all educational institutions have resumed normal functioning as per the Government order.
Principal of GCW Parade, Shripaul Saraswat told the Excelsior that demand of these `handful’ of students was not genuine as all the educational institutions, including the college, have resumed normal functioning.
However, on the other hand, protesting students said that they have studied online and hence appearing for exams offline was not feasible for them.
