JAMMU, May 27: Governing Body of Autonomous Government College for Women Parade Ground, Jammu, met here today under the Chairpersonship of Prof M P S Ishar, former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, presently Vice Chancellor MRSSTU, Bathinda.
It was decided in the meeting that the college will give 75 percent wave off in Government fee from Local fund to the students who have won gold medal in sports, 50 percent wave off for silver medalist and 25 percent wave off for bronze medalist in sports quota.
It was also decided in the meeting that On Job Training programmes should be run during vacation and students should be properly monitor by the teachers during vacation.
Prof Hemla Aggarwal, Principal GCW, Parade Ground, Jammu (Member Secretary) placed 18 Agenda items for approval after discussion on the same. Other members present in the meeting, included Prof S P Sarswat, Nodal Principal, GGM Science College Jammu; Lalit Mahajan, president BBIA, Jammu; Prof Veena Gupta, former Principal GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu; Dr Avinash Gupta , HoD Chemistry; Dr Sonia Khajuria from Dept of English and Dr Neeraj Kumar, Convener IQAC.
Prof Ishar advised that new short term courses like GST, Accounts, Income Tax, Beauty & Wellness and Business Administration should be introduced for all girl students other than the students of college. College should approach the Sate Skill Development and various agencies which could provide financial support and render their services to run the course successfully, he added.
Lalit Mahajan suggested that the college should sign MoU with Central Tool Room, Ludhiana, to successfully run skill based courses. Prof Ishar said that signing MoU with different organizations and inviting the experts from these organizations to train the teachers to run these courses successfully in the college is a must. He suggested that CSIR can be approached for financial support for the same.
Prof Ishar also advised that interview for the appointment of the faculty on Academic Arrangement should be conducted by the committee of the college and the criterions for the same be on the score of 100 in which 15 marks should be for interview and 5 marks for demonstration of teaching skills. He recommended to sign MoU with reputed national & multi -national companies for their services which would help students in their future life.
