GCoE organizes workshop on communication & soft skills

JAMMU, May 26: IQAC, Placement Cell, Alumni Relations and Mentor-Mentee of Government College of Education Jammu today organized one-day workshop on “communication skills and leadership development,” under the patronage of Principal Prof Aekta Gupta.
Students and faculty members of the college participated in the program. The first session was conducted by Nirmal Mhana, Former Principal, Delhi Public School on “How to Face Interviews”. The 2nd session was taken by Mehran Khan, Founder, CEO ELFA International on Effective Communication and Leadership Skills and the 3rd Session was carried on by Aakriti, TOESOL Expert Trainer on Communication and Interview Skills.
In the inaugural session, Prof Aekta Gupta emphasized that communication and soft skills are crucial for creating good career opportunities. “It helps in honing one’s overall personality”, she said and urged the Resource Persons to make these events a regular feature and provide periodic personal mentoring to students of the College.
The mentors of today’s event shared their experiences in a very prolific manner. The students interacted with the Resource Persons and resolved their queries. They also understood the importance of successful communication for improving relations in personal life or professional life.
