JAMMU, June 13: Up in arms against unprecedented delay and no response of the Government towards formulation of their promotional rules under Career Advancement Scheme, the Engineering College Teachers Association has announced to boycott the class works, examination and placement related duties and all others activities undertaken at GCET from August 3, 2016
Decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the Association, held at GCET, here today and attended all the members.
The Association members were apprised that despite repeated representations to the Administrative Department, nothing has come out concrete. As such the college faculty has no option other than but to adopt the non-cooperation means, the participants decided.
“The GCET faculty is still deprived of their rightful incentives in the form of CAS due to inaction on the part of the Administrative Department whereas the counter parts in other Degree Colleges under same Administrative Department as well as universities are enjoying promotional rules through CAS,” the meet observed.
Therefore, the meet decided, the teaching faculty at GCET Jammu will proceed for pen down strike from August 3 if their demand of framing promotional rules as per the AICTE norms and in accordance with the Government SRO-61 of 2007 and SRO-235 of 2013 is not conceded by July 31.
The Association has decided for non-cooperation in respect of class work, co-curricular activities in the college, examination related duties, training and placement activities and all other activities under Government schemes undertaken at GCET.
