Gangster Royal Singh’s aide arrested, snatched weapon recovered

JAMMU, Mar 22: Peer Mitha Police arrested gangster Royal Singh’s aide and recovered snatched weapon from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Peer Mitha led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Kulbir Handa conducted raid and arrested one associate of the notorious gangster Royal Singh.
The arrested person was identified as Sumit Gondhi alias Kalu Pradhan, son of Om Parkash, a resident of Peer Mitha District Jammu. The snatched weapon (revolver) was also recovered from his possession.
Sumit along with Royal Singh were involved in a revolver snatching case registered under FIR Number 10/2022 under Sections 341 and 382 IPC and 3/25 Arms Act with Police Station Peer Mitha.
It is pertinent to mention here that on March 12 this year, the notorious gangster Royal Singh, who was arrested by Jammu Police from New Delhi, was booked under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) and has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal.
The PSA warrant was executed by a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma.
Around six cases of different nature stands registered against the notorious gangster Royal Singh. He was arrested in Amandeep Murder case in 2009 and Gandhi Nagar Police in firing over contractor Choudhary Nagar Singh on April 17, 2021.
Royal Singh, son of Manjeet Singh, a resident of Mohallah Dalpatian, District Jammu was the main conspirator in the firing on contractor Choudhary Nagar Singh’s residence at Gandhi Nagar. On April 3, 2021, an FIR was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar after some unknown persons opened fire on the residence of Nagar Singh.
In the firing, no one was injured. However, the main gate of the house and a car (HP38F-6187) suffered damages. Cartridges were also recovered from in and outside the residence of the contractor.
Six persons including driver of Superintendent Central Jail Kot Bhawal were arrested in this firing case.
Later, all the accused were released on bail and on January 7, 2022, in the much publicised Amandeep Singh murder case, a three Judges Bench of Supreme Court granted bail to Royal Singh, who was undergoing life imprisonment.
