Ganga kick-starts construction work of compound wall

SAMBA: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today asserted that the government has taken various initiatives to upgrade the education as priority sector.

The Minister said this after kick started construction work of compound wall at Government Higher Secondary School Nandpur.

The work is being executed by PWD (R&B) at an estimated cost of work is Rs 14 lakh.

The Minister while inspecting the school building emphasized upon the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to restore and preserve the age old glory of institution as these important monuments itself speak their historic value in present era. He called upon them to evolve innovative techniques/ideas to create the heritage value added assets by using traditional material and craftsmen. He asked them to keep in mind the old architectural features which were linked to the local civilizations while executing the new projects to showcase these as heritage to the futuristic generations.

Responding to the demand regarding additional accommodation, renovation and other facilities in the school, the Minister assured that these demands would be fulfilled on priority.

The Minister asked the concerned authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the premises of school and also carry out massive plantation drives to enhance beauty and ecology of the area.

Later, while interacting with the locals, the Minister asked them to participate in upcoming Panchayat polls in large numbers so that the honest and capable candidates are brought at the helm of affairs adding  that the government is committed to empower panchayats with more powers to ensure holistic and equitable development of the state.

The Minister informed the gathering that a sports complex would be coming up at Nandpur for which the funds have already been provided under Sadbhavna scheme.

The Minister also listened to the grievances of the displaced PoKs families. He directed the revenue authorities to adopt people friendly approach while providing revenue related services to facilitate the displaced families from (PoK) so that they can avail hassle-free benefits under special financial package of the centre government.

SDM Vijaypur, Tehsildar Ramgarh, Chief Education officer, Executive Engineer, BDO, Principal GHSS Nandpur and other officers and officials of district administration were present on the occasion.
