SAMBA, Nov 13: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today inaugurated various road improvement works at Samba.
The Minister inaugurated macadamization work for 6 km road at Bari Brahmana town being executed by PWD at the cost of Rs.1.1 crore besides kick starting 2 km internal road work at Bassi Kalan being done with an estimated cost of Rs 64 lakh.
The Minister said that the Government is laying special emphasis on construction, upgradation and maintenance of roads in the State. He said that an enhanced road network is being expanded in every part of the State as this public utility is the basis of ensuring all other basic services. He directed officials to ensure that best work practices are followed for effective implementation of all road projects as good connectivity holds the key to progress and prosperity of a society.
The Minister reiterated the commitment of the Government of ensuring improved basic facilities to the people. He said that the Government has launched numerous schemes in this regard but public participation has also to be ensured at all levels for optimum results.
