Ganga dedicates upgraded transformer to people

SAMBA, Aug 28: The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today inaugurated a 400 KVA transformer at Ward No 8 Veed Mohalla (Teli Basti), Bari Brahmana.
The transformer has been upgraded from 250 KVA to 400 KVA in response to local demands regarding frequent power shortages in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Government is focused on improving and augmenting the power infrastructure in the district. “Electricity is a basic amenity and the Government is working towards ensuring uninterrupted power supply to all the areas of the State”, he added.
The Minister stated that various instructions have been passed to the concerned authorities to take up repair and restoration works on malfunctioning machines and equipments at an earliest so as to lessen the hardships faced by the people.
He also gave a patient hearing to the grievances raised by local residents of Ward No 8 including requirement of deep drain and black topping of interior roads. The Minister assured that their problems will be addressed on priority and asked officials to submit proposals in this regard.
