JAMMU, Aug 7: Ganga Acrowools Limited organized its annual dealer conference. About 300 dealers across India participated in the conference, where around 14 new products were launched and strategy for future was discussed.
Maninder Sharma, Vice President, Hand knitting Yarns informed that their sale of hand knitting yarns is increasing every year and they have achieved their 100 per cent last year sales target. Overall results were satisfactory, he stated.
He added that a big challenge among all of them was to revive this age old craft and lots of efforts are being done for this. As category promotion to revive this art, they are planning to start hand knitting sessions in schools on a large scale, where hand knitting/craft will be taught by experts and later on knitting competitions will also be held. The entire process will be undertaken by their company, he informed.
He said that a year back they took an initiative as a trial to teach hand craft in a primary school by arranging instructor and yarn at its own. The teaching trial of hand craft in this school was very positive. He urged the government to re-introduce the course in supw activity and the industry is ready to support the cause by training the teachers and providing the yarn at low cost. This effort would be extended to more schools, with Government support.
“To decide future business strategy regular meetings with dealers and visits are being done to analyze their demands. Result showed that there is a good demand of chunky and fancy hand knitting yarns among knitters. Looking into this Ganga Acrowools innovated a wide range of fancy hand knitting yarns which were displayed in this conference”, he said.
The Company launched 14 new hand knitting winter yarns like Poppins, Zinea, Carnation, Jive, Ripple, Rose, Knitter Special, Ritzy etc. Center of attraction was attractive and re-usable packaging for these new products.
On the occasion, performance awards were presented to the achievers.
