JAMMU, Sept 21: A gang of women snatched 400 grams of gold worth approximately Rs 40-45 lakh from a Paloura Top resident while the latter was busy in shopping at Kacchi Chawni area here.
Officials said after releasing around 400 grams of their gold from a locker at Paloura area yesterday, Shanu Manhas wife of Sushil Singh Manhas of Paloura Top, who had to attend an event in Doda area, was shopping along with other family members at Kacchi Chawni, where some unidentified women snatched their gold.
They said the act of the snatchers has been caught on the camera.
According to them, police have taken cognisance of the matter by registering a case under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Pacca Danga and initiating further investigation into the matter to trace and arrest the accused.
“Our teams are after them. They will be behind the bars soon,” said a police officer.
