Gang of burglars busted in Sopore, 3 held

Srinagar, Jan 11: Police in Sopore today solved a burglary case while also arresting 3 accused involved in the commission of the crime. The police also said to have recovered stolen property worth lakhs.
A police spokesperson said  that on January 5, 2021, Police Post Watergam received a written complaint from one individual namely Javaid Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Dilawar Mir resident of Rohama Rafiabad stating that “some unknown thieves broke the shutter of his workshop located at Saidpora Rafiabad and stole a generator and a motor.”
Accordingly, police said, a case FIR No. 08/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation was set into motion.
During the investigation, police said that officers zeroed in on a suspected person along with his two other accomplices.
“When the officers spoke to them, they learnt about their involvement in the commission of the crime and on their disclosure stolen property worth lakhs has also been recovered. They have been arrested and shifted to the Police Station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Police said that the community members have appreciated the efforts made by the police for solving the burglary case.
