JAMMU, Jan 11: A meeting of the Forum of Recognised Colleges (FORCE) was held under the chairmanship of G S Charak, the Patron and S Harbans Singh, President of the Forum to discuss various important issues pertaining to Pvt Colleges of Education.
M S Katoch, the Secretary General of FORCE , presented the report on working of the forum for the six months in general and meeting with NCTE Chairperson and Member Secretary in particular. He informed that a team of three persons headed by M S Katoch met the authorities of the national level regulatory body ie NCTE in the Ministry of Education Shastari Bhawan New Delhi and apprised them about the functioning of the Colleges of Education and their role in preparing would be teachers. “A memorandum containing charter of demands covering all important aspects was handed over to NCTE and the authorities after thorough discussion and listening the issues in depth assured full cooperation to the team members, as the colleges are not new and majority of them are more than 15-20 years old even some them are 30-35 years old and established as per the norms fixed by J&K Govt as well as local affiliating universities,’ he said.
The members present in the meeting appreciated the efforts of the forum in taking up the matter with the authorities. The members of the forum were also apprised by Mr Katoch about the meetings held with Advisor and vice Chancellor of University of Jammu.
During the meeting, tributes were paid to the two chairmen Prakash Sharma Chairman of Bhargava College Samba and Paramahans Swami ji, Chairman Cosmic College Kathua, who recently left for heavenly abode. Two minutes silence was observed by the members to pay homage.
The members, who participated in the meeting, included Vidhi Singh Jamwal, Prof S P Suri, Kamal Gupta, S Manmeet Singh, Samardev Singh, Arun Sharma, Pardeep Singh, C L Tikoo, Abhimanyu, S Vikram Singh and Mr Gulati.
