Gang involved in murder, robberies busted; 3 arrested

SRINAGAR, Oct 14:  Police today busted a gang involved in a murder and multiple robberies by arresting its three members.
A police spokesman said that on a tip off, a police party of Sadder police station intercepted a Maruti Car bearing registration number JK0IF-7710 at TRC and three persons identified as Mohammad Khalil Najar, Icon Parvaiz alias Majid and Faheem Malik were arrested. All three hail from Hazratbal area of the city outskirts.
“During investigation, it surfaced that they were involved in various robbery cases. Two among them along with another associate namely Mehrajudin Dar alias Makooda are involved in a murder case,” the spokesman said.
He said that last month on 29 September, Mohammad Khalil Najar alias Yawar, Icon Parvaiz along with another associate, Makooda had given lift to Mehrajudin Bhat of Kralyar locality of Rainawari in a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK0IT-6598 at Dalgate. “On reaching Padshahi bagh, they snatched rupees 18,000 from him and strangulated him with the shoe lace and then they threw his body at Khalilul Rehman lane in Sanat Nagar,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman further said that this month on 10th of evening, the arrested trio gave lift to Safu-ud-din Lisree of Ghadi area of Reasi district in a Maruti Car bearing registration number JK02U-4455.
“They snatched Rs 7500 and later dropped him at Sanat Nagar area,” the spokesman said, adding that on October 11, they again gave lift to another person Ghulam Nabi Bhat of Guthpora in Budgam  district at Hyderpora in a car bearing registration number JKOIF-7710.
“On reaching Tengpora Bridge, they beat him resulting in severe injuries to his both the eyes. “Besides, they snatched his ATM Card with its code, mobile phone and cash Rs 950 and later dropped him near Barzulla Bridge,” the spokesman said.
