Ganesh Singh appointed head of JPC, on land acquistion bill

NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan reformed the Joint Parliamentry Committe(JPC) for Land Acquistion Bill and appointed Ganesh Singh, member of parliament of BJP from Satna constituency of Madhya Pradesh as its new head.
According to a notification issued from Lok Sabha secretariat, Ms Mahajan appointed Mr Singh as head of the 30 member Joint Committee on the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015.
He was a member of 13th and 14th lok Sabha and this is the third term for Mr Singh.
Five positions are vacant in this committe as the tenure of Mr Jairam Ramesh, Mr Sarad Yadav and Mr Rajpal Singh Saini had ended in Rajiya Sabha while P P Chaudhary gave regination from the committee and one position being already empty.
Other members of the panel include: Lok Sabha : Anandrao Adsul, Kalyan Banerjee, R.K. Bharathi Mohan, Shobha Karandlaje, B. Vinod Kumar, Maganti Murali Mohan, Bhartruhari Mahtab, Chirag Kumar Paswan, Nityanand Rai, Ravindra Kumar Ray, Krishna Raj,Udit Raj, Mohammad Salim, Rajeev Shankarrao Satav, Anurag Singh Thakur, K.V. Thomas, Varaprasad Rao Velagapalli. 2 positions vacant. Rajiya Sabha : Prabhat Jha, Ram Narain Dudi, Digvijaya Singh, P.L. Punia, Ram Gopal Yadav, Derek O’Brien, Sharad Pawar. 3 positions vacant (AGENCIES)
