Gandhi Nagar wins U-14 boys cricket title

JAMMU, June 5: Inter Zonal District Level Competitions of District Jammu in the disciplines of Cricket Boys Under-14 years and Tug of War Girls Under-14 and 17 years concluded at Govt High School Jammu Cantt, here.
Gandhi Nagar Zone lifted Under-14 Boys Inter Zonal District Level Cricket Tournament, defeating Miran Sahib Zone by 9 wickets.
In Cricket Under-17 Boys at Parade Ground here, Jammu Zone beat Marh Zone by 67 runs, while Gandhi Nagar Zone defeated Miran Sahab Zone by 7 wickets.
In all, 448 boys and 81 girls drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the tournament is to select the teams of District Jammu for Inter District Division Level competitions.
Meanwhile, in Inter School District Level Tug of War Under-14 and Under-17 (Girls) at Green Field Gandhi Nagar, Govt Girls HS Sohanjana beat New Public Brilliant HS Kotli Gala Bana by 2-0 Sets, while Govt Girls HS Sohanjana defeated Rain Bow Public HS Miran Sahib by 2-0 Sets.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
