JAMMU, Mar 14: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) alleging hushing up of Rajouri Development Authority scam, General Administration Department today filed a status report before the Division Bench of State High Court in pursuance to the directions issued on March 2, 2016.
In the status report, the GAD said that SVO vide its verifications dated June 10, 2015 and July 3, 2015 had recommended departmental action against the delinquent public servants Mohammad Javed Khan, the then Chief Executive Officer, Rajouri Development Authority, Khushal Chand, the then Executive Engineer, Devi Dass Heer, Executive Engineer and Gurcharan Singh, Junior Engineer Rajouri Development Authority.
“The GAD in turn referred the matter to the concerned Administrative Department—Commissioner/Secretary, Tourism Department. The GAD has issued several communications to the Tourism Department for taking action as per the recommendations of SVO and the last reminder to the Tourism Department was issued on March 3, 2016 for ascertaining the latest status of the Regular Departmental Action against the delinquent public servants”, the status report said.
State Vigilance Organization also filed its reply to the fresh Miscellaneous Application moved by the petitioner seeking setting aside of communication No.VO-Veri-PR-13/ 2009-9835-36 dated 03-07-2015 whereby the SVO after determining a loss of Rs 1,93,915 to the State exchequer did not register the FIR and recommended departmental action against the suspect public servants.
Apart from this Advocate Nitin Parihar also filed reply to the application on behalf of Javed Ahmed Khan, the then Chief Executive Officer Rajouri Development Authority.
After hearing Advocate S S Ahmed with Advocate Rahul Raina appearing for the petitioner, Advocate General D C Raina with Senior AAG Seema Shekhar Khajooria for GAD, AAG P C Sharma for SVO and Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Nitin Parihar appearing for Mohammed Javed Khan, Division Bench directed the listing of the Public Interest Litigation on April, 4, 2016 and allowed time to the counsel for Mohammed Javed Khan to file his response to the application filed by the petitioner.
