MENDHAR, June 28: Fungus was found in the bottle of cold drink in two shops in Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district.
Reports said that the cold drink was ordered by a customer at a local shop, the shopkeeper gave Mountain Dew bottle in which some fungus was found.
On the basis of the information given by the customer to the Mendhar Police Station, the team of police and doctors reached the spot, took samples of cold drinks and confiscated other cold drinks as well.
This is the second consecutive case in the town here when people alleged that the concerned Food Inspector was not taking cognizance of it.
Block Medical Officer, Mendhar Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan said that so far two cases of fungus in the cold drink have come to light in Mendhar recently. He said it may have impact on the health of people. Dr Parvez said a letter has been flashed to the higher authorities in this connection.
