JAMMU, Sept 20: Friends of Tribals Society (FTS), one of the largest non-profit, non-governmental and voluntary organization, headquartered in Kolkata, organized the largest live orchestra performance at the time of lockdown which was streamed on virtual platform and open to all for viewing.
Euphonic performance by the SaReGaMa fame winner Sanjeevanai Bhelande and her associate singers Sanjay Sawant, Sarvesh Mishra and Prashant Naseri made the evening memorable for its audience. She was also accompanied by a troupe of 30 musicians.
Lakhs of people across India and abroad joined to watch the event over FTS website/Youtube.
This musical journey took us back to the soulful music of the golden era. In times of social distancing, this virtual endeavour aimed to spread awareness about Ekal Abhiyan and raise funds for supporting education of under privileged children.
The concert was promoted by celebrity Vivek Oberoi–a strong patron of Ekal Movement.
Kotak had come forward to support this noble initiative as a lead sponsor. Many other renowned organisations like Century Ply, Amul Macho, Anmol Biscuits, Lux Cozi, Skipper Limited, Prism Jewellery, Saraogi Udyog, Tania Industries, Sage University, RR Kabels and Anand Rathi Group also sponsored this event.
People across the globe also contributed whole heartedly by donating for Ekal Vidyalayas during the event.
Meanwhile, Dr HS Paul, Bureau Chief of Delhi Office of Daily Excelsior also donated Rs 22,000 towards one school children tuition fee for one year.
