NEW DELHI, June 27: Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on easy availability of trucks as compared to limited cargo movements.
Transporters said easy position of trucks in the markets against restricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down freight rates.
Delhi to Baroda, Mumbai and Chennai freight moved down by Rs 26,000, Rs 27,000 and Rs 63,000.
Rates to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Gwalior also went down by Rs 500 each to Rs 14,000, Rs 17,000 and Rs 15,000.
