Freight rates down on excess trucks position

NEW DELHI, May 20:  Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on easy position of trucks against restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said excess position of trucks in the market as compared to restricted cargo movements, led to the decline in freight rates for some destinations.
Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Bengaluru and Kochi freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 56,000, Rs 60,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 79,000, respectively.
Rates to Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna and Ahmedabad rates also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 60,000, Rs 32,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively.
