Freedom of Expression

Sir,
Freedom of Press is considered the fourth pillar of the democracy. India is the largest democracy in the world. Bihar elections have proved the democratic set up of our country in the whole world. Our Prime Minister also has said so in his victory speech. And under such democratic set up the press plays the pivotal role for the healthy democracy. Without the freedom of expression no democracy can be said to be a complete and a flourishing one.
No doubt, there is the moral responsibility on the journalists and the press, print or media, to be in moral ethics while reporting the things. Yes, true, there should be no anti-national mindset. In addition, there should be no baseless mudslinging. But criticising the wrongs is the responsibility of the journalists. Because a stitch in time saves nine. If the judiciary is the guardian of the constitution, freedom of expression is the symbol of a good democracy.
