JAMMU, Mar 16: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmed Khan today said that Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) “Maa Tujay Salaam” scheme has been launched in all districts of the State where under free treatment is being given to pregnant women and sick new born children including free diet in the hospitals besides transport facilities from home to hospital to the mothers.
Replying to a question by Congress MLA Ashok Kumar, the Minister informed that 1.19 lakh pregnant women were given benefits for institutional deliveries so far under this scheme. He said 20044 sick neonates have also been provided free treatment facilities besides 85734 pregnant women provided diet during their stay in the hospitals while as 54744 pregnant women/sick neonates were provided transport from home to institution, drop back and referral so far in the State under this scheme.
The Minister said in Ramban and Doda districts 5516 pregnant women were provided benefits of institutional deliveries under JSSK while 1648 sick neonates were provided free treatment. He said honorarium of ASHAs would be rationalised from April this year.
He said that ASHA Grehs are being set up in all district hospitals and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in phased manner for guiding the pregnant women and children in availing health facilities. He said during next fiscal 20 ASHA Grehs have been proposed to be setup under NRHM and added that so far ASHA Grehs have been set up in 14 district hospitals including district hospital Ramban and Doda and 5 CHCs in the State.
