Free medical camp held on eve of 550th birthday of Guru Nanak

SAMBA, Oct 20: On the eve of the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a free medical camp was organized by Sikh Youth of Vijaypur and J&K Blood Donation Bank.
The medical camp was inaugurated by DySP, Labh Karan. This medical camp was set up in the school premises at Vijaypur under the supervision of Gurdeep Singh, the President of the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Vijaypur  and Amritpal Singh, the Sikh youth leader.
The doctors of Amandeep Hospital, Pathankot (Punjab) participated in the camp. During the camp, hundreds of people of the area were screened and given free medicines.
Doctors also advised the patients to be very serious about the disease and get checkups done from time to time. They said that in the future too, they will continue to serve the people.
They said the poor people cannot get proper check up in hospitals so the diseases progresses slowly. “That’s why our team of doctors’ goes from village to village periodically and gives free medicines along with free screening of people so that the poor people can get better facilities at their door steps.
DySP Labh Karan welcomed this free medical camp and said that such camps provide great benefits to the poor. Balvindra Singh, Bikramjit Singh, Amritpal, Malkit Singh, Simarpreet Singh and their colleagues participated in the camp.
