RAJOURI, Apr 3 : A free eye camp is being held at CHC Kalakote from April 3 to 6 for cataract surgery.
Viklang Chhatra Trust in collaboration with Indian Army (63 RR) and BMO Kalakote has organised the camp for the locals. Thakur Rachpal Singh, MLA Kalakote and Vijay Suri, President Vyapar Mandal Kalakote have also contributed towards arranging the facilities and medicines for the camp.
The patients are being given free treatment besides medicines and post operative care. Meals for the patients and their attendants have also been arranged by the Army and Vijay Suri.
About 360 patients were screened out of which 51 patients have been short listed for operation. 48 more patients will be operated on April 24 for cataract in next camp.
Ophthalmic surgeons Dr. Rajeev Sharma and Dr. Arti Sharma will be carrying out the surgery. They are being helped by military doctor. Besides Ajay Anand, Ram Kishan Sharma and Vishwavandu, all ophthalmic assistants will assist in the surgery.
Satya Paul Saraf, organiser, Viklang Chhatra Trust extended gratitude to the Army for the support to organise the camp.
