Fraudster arrested for duping shopkeepers

JAMMU, May 5: City police arrested a fraudster for duping several shopkeepers of their electronic goods.
As per police sources, a call was received by City police that a person is trying to dupe a shopkeeper at Residency Road of his electronic goods (AC and LEDs).
Acting swiftly, a team from City police station rushed to the spot and caught hold of the fraudster, who has been identified as Ankush, son of Amrit Lal, a resident of Rehari.
During questioning, it came to fore that the fraudster had earlier also duped several shopkeepers including owner of JJ Traders Joginder Gupta of their electronic goods.
He had given fake cheques to several shopkeepers and also escaped mid-way with the goods after assuring the shopkeepers for paying the amount at home.
Police is trying to affect the recovery of the goods, which the accused had stolen fraudulently.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at City police station and further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Shakti Sharma and Incharge Residency Road SI Sohit Trikha made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
