JAMMU, July 26: The four member committee of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) met protesting package and batch 2007 & 09 employees working in Valley here at Relief Commissioner’s office to take note of the demands and issues of the employees after they have left Valley due to stone-pelting and mob violence. These employees under the banner of All Migrant Employees Association, Valley were on protest for last 12th consecutive days to press the State and Centre Governments to accept their demand without any further delay.
The four member BJP team comprised of State general secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, MLCs Surinder Ambardar and Ramesh Arora and president Displaced District Kashmir Chand Ji Bhat arrived at RC’s office to talk with the protesting employees. The employees put forth only one demand in front of the Committee that they be adjusted in Jammu without any condition and delay.
Further, the employees said that no confidence building measure was taken to restore faith in the employees by any Government since their appointment in Valley. The employees also questioned the silence of BJP over attacks on members of minority community.
The team after hearing employee grievances and demands said that they were very much concerned the way, they must have faced the situation and left. They said that they will prepare a complete report over the circumstances led to employees flee from the Valley which shall be later submitted to party high command besides, State and Centre Government. MLC Surinder Ambardar , while speaking on the occasion said that he would stand by the demand of employees at this time as being well aware of their problems and concerns.
MLC Ramesh Arora said that “it is a great concern that some anti national elements are repeatedly trying to vitiate atmosphere in the Valley and it is because of such elements you are becoming victims,” adding that BJP standby KPs during their migration in nineties and will also stand with them this time too. Earlier, Dr. Narinder Singh said that “it is our duty to fight with such elements that are hell-bent to create disturbance in Valley.” “It is right that everyone wants to live with dignity and honour and it should be our prime cause to ensure such things,” he added. The BJP delegation assured employees that they will consider all such points presented by their committee in coming time.
Hundreds of KP employees continued demonstration regularly here after they have left Valley due to mob violence and fear psychosis.
Maintaining that patience has a limit and it had crossed now, the protesting employees said that they were not opposing to work in Valley but only when the fate of whole community regarding their return will be decided and till, they should be adjusted in Jammu. They also urged the Government that there package should not be linked with the return and rehabilitation of KPs in Valley and instead be declared as economic package for KPs.
