JAMMU, Feb 5: Crime Branch today booked four persons for preparing fake and fabricated route permits by fraudulent means.
An official spokesman said that, Crime Branch registered a criminal case FIR No. 5/13 under Section 420, 466, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC against Ramesh Kumar, son of Parmanand of Rehari Colony, Tilak Raj, son of Harbans lal of Channi Himmat, Varinder Kumar, son of Thudu Ram of Channi and Harbans Lal, son of Ram Chand of Sunjwan, Narwal for preparing fake and fabricated route permits by fraudulent means.
He said that a communication made by IGP Traffic, with Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, enclosing the report of Regional Transport Officer, was received by Crime Branch, wherein it was stated that route permits of four vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AG-5396, JK02AL-5435, JK02AN-1557 and JK02S-3667 seized and forwarded by Traffic Police, National Highway, Ramban for verification were found fake and fabricated.
From the aforementioned facts, the route permits which were produced by the accused before Traffic Police during routine traffic checking and subsequently found fake on verification from Regional Transport Office, Jammu, were prepared in connivance with some other persons and officers/officials of the Regional Transport Office, in order to cheat the Traffic Police authorities and public to get illegal benefits, he said.
On this a case has been registered and investigation of the case is in progress, he added.
