JAMMU, May 9: Four-A Resort, in collaboration with ASCOMS Hospital and American Oncology Institute (AOI), organized a free medical camp and general health awareness camp at Birpur on city outskirts.
The medical camp aimed to carry forward the legacy of late Dewan Bansal, who was a well-known businessman of the region and a strong advocate of community welfare. His philanthropic contributions to society have left a significant impact on the lives of many people.
Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department J&K, Bhupinder Kumar inaugurated the medical camp virtually. During his inaugural address, Bhupinder Kumar lauded the efforts of Four-A Resort, ASCOMS Hospital and American Oncology Institute for organizing this free medical camp.
“To tackle problem of cancer, Government of India is establishing two cancer institutes in the Union Territory, one each in Jammu as well as Kashmir region,” he said. He added that the both institutes will soon start functioning.
The inaugural lamp was lit by Suman Bansal, Devinder Batra, Directors of Four-A Resort– Rahul Bansal and Sahil Bansal, Varsha Bansal, Principal ASCOMS, Dr Pawan Malhotra, Manager Marketing AOI Ashutosh Gupta, Surgical Oncologist AOI Dr Surbhi Kudyar, General Manger Stephen Ganon and Operations Manager Kumar Videsh.
Patients from different peripheral areas participated in the camp and received free medical consultations, including cancer screening and general health checkups. More than 500 patients including women were screened and examined by team of doctors from ASCOMS Hospital and AOI led by Dr Pawan Malhotra.
The camp was co-ordinated by Tanushree Khajuria (Deputy Manager, Marketing AOI) with support from WCC team headed by Dr Dharminder Dhillon. Dr Neeraj Bishnoi Regional Chief Operating Officer AOI, North Region, Vikrant Thakur, Facility Director AOI Jammu and Ashutosh Gupta- Senior Manager Marketing, AOI were also present.
The doctors, who screened patients are Dr Anil K Gupta and Dr Abhinav Gupta (Medicine Department), Dr Mohd Iqbal (Nephrologist), Dr Karan Dang (Cardiologist), Dr Sushil Sharma (Child Specialist), Dr Manmeet Singh (HoD Psychiatry), Dr Mohit and Dr Navneet (ENT), Dr Surbhi Kudyar (Oncology), Dr Shikha Dhawan (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Dr Akshat Paed (Surgeon).
