JAMMU, Feb 17: 15th Foundation Day of Shiv Mandir, sector 5/7, Trikuta Nagar, was celebrated today at its premises. A large number of devotees from Trikuta Nagar and adjoining areas thronged the temple.
The celebrations started with Havan followed by Abhishek, Arti and Amritwani, which was further followed by address by Shastri Chuni Lal, head priest of the temple. Thereafter a cultural programme was presented by the children followed by felicitation of devotees. A mass bhandara was also organized on the occasion.
Those who were honoured by Mandir Committee for their selfless service included MR Gupta, Hari Gandotra, Om Prakash, ML Gupta, Urmila Arora, Kamlesh Seth, Mohni Rakhwal and all the trustees. Founder president/ Trustee, RR Vaid, was honoured posthumously.
The function was organized by the Mandir Committee headed by its president, Devinder Seth. Other members of the Executive Committee, Dr RL Handoo, Lal Man Sharma, Bharat Sharma and Chander Prakash were also present.
Celebrations came to end with usual evening Arti and vote of thanks by president of the temple, Devinder Seth.
