JAMMU, May 25: A Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “Ankle and Foot Injuries” was organized by Fortis Memorial Research Institute Gurugram in collaboration with KIRF J&K for doctors, healthcare professionals and physiotherapists in Jammu.
Around 150 physiotherapists from various institutions and private clinics across the region participated in the academic event titled “Ortho-Rehab Connect-2026”.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest, Aijaz Qaiser, Joint Director Tourism Jammu. Sohail Kazmi and Nirmal Mahana attended the event as special guests.
Aijaz Qaiser in his address stressed the importance of continuous professional learning in improving patient care. He urged the medical fraternity to work in close coordination to strengthen the healthcare ecosystem and highlighted the need for greater public awareness about rehabilitation techniques to help injured persons regain independence and return to active life.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr Anuj Chawla, who spoke on advanced diagnosis, management, rehabilitation and modern surgical techniques related to ankle and foot trauma, including sports injuries.
Guest of honour, Dr Sanjeev Gupta highlighted the academic importance of the CME and emphasized multidisciplinary collaboration between orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists for better rehabilitation outcomes.
Renowned creative artist, writer and poet, Heena Mahajan also addressed the gathering and spoke on dedication, compassion and creativity in professional life.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion session on rehabilitation protocols and patient recovery pathways.
