Former Chief Secy’s wife passes away

SRINAGAR, May 31: Shamma Mir, wife of former J&K Chief Secretary Mir Nassarullah and daughter of former Prime Minister of J&K, Bakshi Ghulam Mohammed passed away here last night.
Her last rites were performed at Srinagar this afternoon. A large number of people from all walks of life attended her funeral.
Governor NN Vohra conveyed, his grief on the demise of Mir and prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Minister for Public Works and Culture, Naeem Akhtar, visited the Srinagar residence of Shamma Mir and expressed personal condolences with the bereaved Mir family, Naeem prayed for strength to the family in this time of huge loss and grief.
Recalling the contribution of Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad towards the J&K state, Akhtar also prayed for peace of the departed soul. The minister was also accompanied by senior officers of the State Government.
