Forget pangs of partition: Dr Masud to youth

POONCH, Dec 10: Former Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Dr  Masud Ahmed Chaudhary has urged the youth of Pir Panjal region to forget partition of the region and leap over its pangs towards a more promising and stable future.
The former IPS officer reminded the youth of their historic responsibility to leverage the massive educational opportunities provided by technology in the global village. He was speaking at a seminar on “Pangs of Partition and Education a Way Out”,  organized by APJ Abdul Kalam Human Welfare Foundation, here at GDC Poonch.
On the occasion,  Dr  Masud was also felicitated with Life Time Achievement Award by the Foundation. Former Chairperson, National Minorities Commission, Wajahat Habibullah, Member All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Maulana Ghulam Qadir, Chairperson J&K Women Commission, Nayema Ahmed Mehjoor besides a galaxy of top-notch intellectuals of the region and youth attended the seminar.
Dr  Masud exhorted the youth to focus on education wholeheartedly and forget the partition and live with reality of the day. He said a generation of the region was thrown back decades while continuously pondering over that unimaginably painful event which affected the progress of the region.
He pitched for facilitating the tangible shift of interest in education amongst youth of the region. He commended APJ Abdul Kalam Human Welfare Foundation and collaborating partners for organising the seminar and urged for similar sustained efforts to guide and motivate the youth to channelize their energy in right direction.
Veteran bureaucrat,  Wajahat Habibullah,  who had served as Poonch District Magistrate in the 1970s,  exuded confidence in the trajectory of development and shift of focus among the people of Poonch. He called for continuous efforts by intelligentsia and handholding approach to tap massive potential amongst people of Pir Panjal region.
Prof  Musarraf Hussain Shah, Principal GDC Poonch, Maulana Syed A Habib, Chairperson, Zia Ul Uloom Groups of Institutions, Khalil A Banday, Chairman APJ Abdul Kalam Human Welfare Foundation, Ch  Muhammad Asad Noomani, Tribal leader and activist, senior officers of district administration, members of BAR, faculty members of GDC were present on the occasion.
