JAMMU, Apr 10: A team of Jammu Forest Division, led by Rakeshwar Singh, Range Officer Bahu and Diwakar Singh, Block officer, Chowadhi alongwith other Forest field staff today demolished one illegal structure on Forest land in Compartment No. 8 of Chowadhi Block.
The anti-encroachment drive was launched under the supervision of DFO Jammu Alok Maurya and was supported by Police team led by Vikram Kumar SDPO East, Karan Chalotra SHO Channi Himmat and Duty Magistrate Mohd Saleem, Naib Tehsildar Executive Magistrate Ist Class.
DFO Jammu, disclosed that upon the request of Forest Department, Anshul Garg Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Chandan Kohli, SSP Jammu deployed Police personnel and deputed Duty Magistrate to tackle law and order situation. In the operation one illegal structure constructed on forest land was demolished and 2 Kanal of Forest land was retrieved.
The higher officers including K. Ramesh Kumar, CCF and CF East Circle Samuel Changkija appreciated the efforts of the officials and directed to take all the measures to prevent encroachment on Forest land.
