Forest Contractors Association takes up issues with CCF

JAMMU, June 25: J&K Forest Contractors Association met Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Jammu under the presidentship of Sanjay Gupta.
The Association has appealed to CCF for considering the policy on minor forest products in J&K for forest contractors and unit holders.
They have sought a compensate package to forest contractors regarding various pending demands related with the trade, which was started in 2016 after prolonged ban since 2004.
The association has appealed to the CCF Jammu to start tendering process so that extraction shall be carried out timely and before snowfall the material should be dumped.
The association has also demanded a package to boost the economy in this trade so that entrepreneurs involved shall get rid of burden of financial crunch faced during the previous years in minor forest produces.
They also projected various others issues including closure of industrial units.
CCF Jammu gave patient hearing to the issues raised and assured the Association members that their pending issues will be resolved. CCF also directed CF East and CF Chenab Circle for appropriate measures to redress the issues falling in their domain.
CCF Jammu also assured that some main issues shall be taken up with Principal CCF J&K to streamline the trade and generate avenues of employments without any hindrance in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
