JAMMU, Mar 2: A Section Officer of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) posted in the Directorate at Srinagar, was today caught red- handed while accepting bribe from a junior employee of his own office.
On the complaint of Assistant Store Keeper, Mohd Altaf Dar, the Vigilance Organisation sleuths took cognizance of the matter and organised a trap. Dar in his complained stated that he completed nine years of service as Assistant Store Keeper and is due for grade promotion under relevant SRO. He alleged that for processing his case SO, Parveez Ahmed Siraz was demanding an amount of Rs 4000 as illegal gratification. After persuasion, an amount of Rs 2000 was fixed to be paid to him.
The team of Vigilance organization, in a well knit operation, caught the Section Officer while accepting Rs 2000 as bribe from the complainant today in presence of independent witnesses. He was arrested along with money and a case FIR No. 05/ 2018 was registered against him. Further investigation was in progress.
