This has reference to the news item ‘JK ideal for food, fruit processing industry’ DE Apr 23.
It is true that Jammu and Kashmir due to geographical conditions and God given natural bounty is an ideal place for food processing industry.
To achieve the objective of making the State a thriving food processing industry, need of the hour is to launch an awareness campaign among our unemployed youth and the farmer community of the State of the importance of food processing industry.
They should be made aware of its market potential and provided necessary guidance to handle it.Various experts from Food processing should be involved to train and educate those who are want to make their career in this industry.
It is a lucrative industry and those are interested in it can open their food processing units and generate employment opportunities for others as well.
The Government should frame a policy for it without losing any time.
