NEW DELHI, Dec 20: National Executive meeting of Gandhi Global Family (GGF) was held under the chairmanship of its President and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from 24 states and 2 Union Territories of India and representatives from 6 countries namely South Africa, France, Afghanistan, Georgia, Nepal and Malasia.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Azad said that peace in the world can be achieved only by following the path shown by the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. He said that all the countries of the world must follow the principals of Mahatma Gandhi so that the peace and prosperity of respective countries is achieved.
He stressed upon the members to increase the membership of GGF so that more and more people are brought into the folds of GGF and attach them with the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. He asked the member states to implement the programme of GGF with full zeal. He asked the members to complete the state level elections of GGF by 31st March, 2013. The agenda presented on the occasion was passed unanimously. It was informed during the meeting that next Sammelan of GGF will held at Bhuvneshwar (Orissa) on 30th and 31st January, 2013.
Vice President Gandhi Global Family, Padam Shree S.P. Verma threw light on the achievements and flagship programmes of Gandhi Global Family.
