FMPHWs’ protest dharna enters 12th day

JAMMU, May 26: The protest dharna of Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) for release of their pending salaries, entered into 12th day, today, here at Madam Shashi Bala Memorial Park.
Wearing black dupattas as a protest, the female health workers raised slogans against the Government for ignoring their plight. The male supporters of FMPHWs present on the occasion were also wearing black shirts as a mark of antipathy towards the irresponsible behavior of the State Government in solving their salary issue.
Ch Jarnail Singh, the principal speaker of the day, in his address appealed the State Government to solve the problem of FMPHWs and extended full support to the struggle of FMPHWs on behalf of all Government pharmacists working in Health Department, Jammu Division.
Neelam Kumari, general secretary of FMPHWs’ Welfare Association, in her address, appealed the higher Authorities to redress the issue of salaries of Female Multipurpose Health Workers which was due for more than a year’s time and its permanent solution on war footing otherwise the protests will be exaggerated.
