FMPHWs to ‘gherao’ Governor House

DODA, Oct 21: To press for their pending demands, a large number of Female Multi Purpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) will ‘gherao’ Governor House on October 24 in Srinagar.
This was stated by Shakuntla Devi, Spokesperson, Female Multi Purpose Health Workers (FMPHW) Association Doda, while interacting with media persons here today. Hushiar Singh, President, Medical Employees Federation District Doda and other members of the Union were also present on the occasion.
She said that the female multi purpose workers of the Health Department in Doda have been compelled to take this step.
“Multi purpose workers are on strike for the past around two months as their long pending demands are not fulfilled”, she said, adding that higher authorities of Health Department have expressed their inability to fulfill the demands of these workers and now they have decided to gherao the Governor House at Srinagar.
Projecting their demands, she demanded release of pending salaries, regularization and fixing seniority of the already regularized multipurpose health workers.
While speaking, Hushiar Singh, President, Medical Employees Federation District Doda extended full support to the demands of the FMPHWs and will also take part in the Governor House gherao on October 24 at Srinagar.
It is pertinent to mention that the female multipurpose health workers on October 17 locked down the Out Patient Department (OPD) of District Hospital Doda and normal working remained suspended for couple of hours.
Among others present were Tahir Mushtaq, General Secretary JKMEF District Doda, Haleema Tahir President FMPHW Association Doda, Rita Devi General Secretary, Puja Devi, Kanta Devi, Shahina Begum, Mehmooda Begum, Milan Manhas, Sanjay Kotwal, Ghulam Hassan Wani, Rehamatullah Malik, Ram Raj Rukwal and Rehamatullah Wani.
