JAMMU, Sept 18: Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ took out a protest rally to Governor House in support of their demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211, as their strike entered 23rd day, today.
Led by Sushil Sudan, president, JKMEF, and Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWs’ Welfare Association, hundreds of employees drawn from all districts of Jammu region assembled at Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu and then took out a rally which passed through Secretariat Road, kacchi Chawani, CPO office and then culminated back in front of Governor House.

They raised slogans against Government for not fulfilling their long pending demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211, release of pending salaries, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary since March 2018, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for last 27 years.
The leaders of JKMEF participated in the rally were Jarnail Singh, Kamal Jit Sawhney, Jugal Bakshi, Harpal Singh, Subhash Choudhary, Dheeraj Sharma, Vishav Bandhu, Anoop Singh and Vishal Patil.
